i dont think that students in college would still be forced to play their instrument. college costs a lot of money and parents arent going to pay for their kids to learn about something they hate.
anyways.
i am a non-musician even though i played the flute for 8 years of my life. i think i should actually take both sections of this "questionnaire", so i will.

7. i wanted to play the flute. or at least music in general.
8. i dont think it helped me subjectwise, but it helped me to concentrate more in my other classes. band wasn't a lecture, homework every night, write papers, do group work class. it was band. it was different and musical. everyone enjoys music, so i enjoyed band.
9. i liked playing with the band. i liked hearing how all the parts fit together. i hated practicing at home alone.
10. yes. except i manage my time very poorly.
11. math in general, yes.
12. i've been pretty consistant in math this year. i do well in drawing too.
13. i read books. i write. i draw. create art. attempt to learn other instruments. and learn about the world.
14. i've been reading consistantly for two years. i've been writing since i was in 6th grade. i've only been drawing for a couple of months. creating art since i was a tot.
